These terms cover your use of barkyv. By creating an account, you agree to them.
barkyv is a personal tool for organizing your pets' health records — the documents you upload or email in, and the structured summaries, timelines, and reminders we generate from them. It is not a veterinary practice, a telehealth service, or a substitute for professional veterinary care.
Nothing in barkyv — including AI-generated summaries, the "Learn more" background reading, and answers from Ask About Records — is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or medical or veterinary advice. These features are explicitly designed to stick to what's in your pet's own records and to tell you plainly when they can't answer something, rather than guess. Always bring health questions and decisions to a licensed veterinarian.
Extraction, summaries, and Q&A answers are generated by AI models reading your uploaded documents. While we've built the extraction pipeline to be careful and to cite its sources, it can still misread a document or miss something — that's exactly why every piece of extracted data links back to the original document it came from, so you can always verify against the source. Review anything important against the original record.
Core record-keeping — uploading, organizing, and viewing your pets' records — is free. Ask About Records is a paid feature, billed annually through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel first; cancelling stops the next renewal but doesn't refund the current billing period. Contact us if you have a billing question or concern — we'll work with you.
When you create a share link for a veterinary clinic, you control what it includes and when it expires, and you can revoke it at any time. You're responsible for sending it only to clinics and people you intend to have that access.

You own the records and documents you upload to barkyv. We don't claim any ownership over them — see our Privacy Policy for how we use them to run and improve the service. barkyv's own software, design, and branding remain ours.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app — this permanently removes every pet, document, and share tied to it. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
barkyv is provided "as is." We work to keep it reliable and the extracted data accurate, but we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every piece of AI-extracted information will be perfectly accurate — which is exactly why the original source document is always one click away.
To the fullest extent the law allows, barkyv isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly. Continuing to use barkyv after a change means you accept the updated terms.
